I recently returned home from the EWGA Empower 13 conference in Hilton Head, South Carolina. I flew into Savannah and took the 45 minute drive to Hilton Head Island. It is a quaint delightful area chock-full of beaches and phenomenal golf. I kick started my trip at famed PGA Tour venue Harbour Town. I was so fortunate to have a lesson from PGA Tour player Stephen Ames back in Calgary the day before I left. He told me to watch out for the postage stamp greens and how narrow it is. He wasn’t kidding! It was an amazing experience and coming down 18 firing at the red and white striped lighthouse is a memory I won’t soon forget.

The next day I was honored to keynote speak for the delegates sharing my story and life lessons of building the brand of Lisa Longball and tips and takeaways to help empower the ladies both personally and professionally. It was the second year in a row I spoke at this conference. I had met half the delegates at last year’s event in Las Vegas. I was overwhelmed when I got a standing ovation BEFORE I took the stage. These women are unbelievable! Here is a clip of the opening of my address:

I capped off the event with a fun, entertaining and informative Power Tips clinic to help gusts with important golf fundaments and most importantly share tips to add distance to their whole game. It may even have capped off with a back flip! Here is a clip:

I also was thrilled to have a chance to walk down the seemingly endless beach in Hilton Head behind my hotel and avoided the jelly fish that had escaped the ocean. Once home it was down to working on the swing to prepare for several corporate and charity golf events in June with the YWCA tournament in South Dakota with LPGA player Kris Tschetter being a highlight.

Hope your season is in full swing!
