Hello all!
Well spring is finally here! November was my last update so I have quite a bit to catch up on! I took an “off season” from after World Championships in October to January.
I spent the time with my family getting Luke geared up for playing hockey for the first time and adjusting to kindergarten. I also worked on my fitness. I finished the 3 month P90x program again and am currently on the Insanity program that works strength, plyomertics and cardio. We celebrated Christmas in town with our families, which was fantastic. We spent New Year’s in BC and had a chance to play outdoor hockey and go skiing which is one of my favorite pass times. January was back to the grind hitting balls at the Golf Canada Center. Thank goodness for heated stalls!
January 21-26, I was off to the PGA Show in Orlando and had a chance to see all the new golf goodies for 2013! I enjoyed the ACCRA Golf Day, and Demo Day was amazing as usual with a 360 degree circular range, over 400 yards in diameter all players shooting into the middle. It was there I was fitted for my new Nike equipment for the season! I am ecstatic to be a Nike Athlete again for 2013 celebrating my 9th year with the Swoosh! I will be hitting the new Nike Covert driver and am very excited with the numbers. I am in the process now of working on head and shaft combinations for the season with my club builder Lyle Helland of Simply Golf.
In February it was off for a family vacation to Mexico. We attended Carnival in Cozumel on Fat Tuesday which was a thrill and had a chance to go to a Pearl Farm there as well. Luke went snorkeling for the first time and was blown away by the fish. I had a chance to tee it up at El Camaleon, the home of the only PGA Tour stop in Mexico, the Mayakoba. What a fabulous track! March was a busy month for Golf Shows and I was thrilled to return to Toronto for the 3 day show sharing the stage with Michael Breed form the Golf Channel, 2x World Long Drive Champion Jamie Sadlowski and Tiger Wood’s coach Sean Foley. I was representing the Score Golf Links for Women brand and promoting the fun filled women’s only golf schools across Canada. It was an amazing weekend! The following weekend I was off to Ottawa for their golf show. I was thrilled to be on CTV Morning live (http://www.hernco.com/golfclub/archive.htm) and several radio programs promoting the show. I did 2 stage shows a day and was thrilled at the number of people who were keen to learn more about the game.
I snuck down south one more time to Las Vegas for a golf trip. I have flown into McCarron airport over a dozen times but never teed it up in Vegas. I was always headed straight to World Championships in Mesquite. I played 3 courses and capped it off with TPC Las Vegas which was a real treat! We were back in time for Easter it was chocolate egg hunts and bunnypalooza. It was great to spend it with my sister and her family. The rest of the month has been spent gearing up for the season! I am excited to be speaking in Hilton Head next month for the EWGA Empower 13 Conference. I will be the keynote speaker this year at the opening lunch and will be conducting a Power Tips clinic as well. I am thrilled to reconnect with the fabulous women I met at last year’s event!
I have also been working with Oliver & Spence Creative Agency on my new website which will launch May 6. I am thrilled with the changes and the focus on my keynote speaking at conferences/meetings/conventions in addition to my work at golf events. I will also be launching a “newsletter” format for the Lisa Longball Update versus an e-mail. It started as a simple email to family and friends to let people know what was going on and now it has grown to over 2,000 people. I guess it is time!
Here is the always exciting Photo Show! 🙂 I think you will enjoy it! I tried to pack it all in! It is only 4 min and 30 sec 🙂
